For some, New Year’s Eve becomes a matter of diminishing marginal returns. Imbibing in adult beverages can free inhibitions and lead to comity at some parties. Unfortunately, when that “one drink too many” hits, some party-goers can become the feared “friendly drunk,” known for their close talking and the repeated “I LOVE you man!”

Ergogenic • \ur-guh-JEN-ik\ • adjective - Enhancing physical performance

Dilton stared wistfully into the dimming light of the distant sunset, his jogging partners silhouetted against the orange rays of the dying sunlight. It was at that very moment that his ergogenic New Year’s resolution crystallized. “I will beat them over the horizon next year,” he muttered to himself between wheezing gasps.
