WORD OF THE DAY
Efflorescence
• \eff-luh-RESS-suns\ • Noun - 1a: the action or process of developing and
unfolding as if coming into flower b: an instance of such development c:
fullness of manifestation: culmination 2: the period or state of flowering 3:
the process or product of efflorescing chemically
“Blink
and its gone,” bellowed the intergalactic Master Gardener to his well-behaved
minions, trailing behind him like so many ducklings as they trekked across the
plans of Minubious-Two on their way to observe the once millennial efflorescence
of the “scavenging blink-flower.” Unfortunately for the group, their attention
at the exact time of flowering was diverted at the worst time, as one of the sentient
talking dogs of Canis Carnivora barked “squirrel” at a small rodent running
across the remote mountain trail.

LINKS & PAYWALL ADVISORY
All
the links in today’s news digest lead to current stories. Please note that some
media organizations update their web sites regularly, which may result in
broken links in the future.
Note
that as some newspapers migrate to a “paywall” system of access, some articles
may not be available without forking over some cold hard credit card cash.
However, some sites will allow a certain number of story accesses per month
before holding out their hand. Sorry if this is an inconvenience.
