Nota
Bene • \note-uh BEEN-ee\ • From the Latin, mark well. Used to call attention to
something important (Used as a phrase or the initials: NB)
Alfredo
was confused by his employer’s apparent misreading of the new, thick, complex
contract with his client. Although he had peppered the document with nota bene
references to an extensive appendix, the warnings never got through.
Unbeknownst to Fred, his boss has misunderstood the references and had merely
thought that the NB notes in the document margins were bizarre doodlings about “New
Brunswick, Canada”.

LINKS & PAYWALL ADVISORY
All
the links in today’s news digest lead to current stories. Please note that some
media organizations update their web sites regularly, which may result in
broken links in the future.
Note
that as some newspapers migrate to a “paywall” system of access, some articles
may not be available without forking over some cold hard credit card cash.
However, some sites will allow a certain number of story accesses per month
before holding out their hand. Sorry if this is an inconvenience.
