The town crier’s days were numbered. His demise began early one morning as he made his pronouncements beneath the swinging wooden sign of the local butcher…espousing vegetarianism as the cure to all human ills. Unfortunately for him, the butcher was not only his brother-in-law, but the Mayor of the small town. The pink slip arrived the very next day.
