Alfredo was confused by his employer’s apparent misreading of the new, thick, complex contract with his client. Although he had peppered the document with nota bene references to an extensive appendix, the warnings never got through. Unbeknownst to Fred, his boss has misunderstood the references and had merely thought that the NB notes in the document margins were bizarre doodlings about “New Brunswick, Canada”.
