Kristin Masteller is named General Manager of Mason County PUD No. 1 (Mason PUD 1, Potlatch, WA)

POTLATCH, WA- At their August 28th regular meeting, the Board of Commissioners for Mason County Public Utility District No. 1 passed a resolution appointing Kristin Masteller as the new General Manager.

Masteller will be responsible for performing all Chief Administrative Officer duties for PUD 1. She replaces Steve Taylor, who had managed PUD 1 for eleven years. Taylor departed earlier this month to become General Manager at Okanogan PUD.

“We had some good applicants in our search process”, said Jack Janda, PUD 1 board president. “We have such a strong, cohesive group at our utility that works well together. Therefore, the board felt its best choice was to hire from our very qualified candidates from within our organization, and continue the positive work culture that we have,” he said. “I believe the board’s decision puts the utility in the best position going into the future.”

Masteller has worked for Mason PUD 1 since 2011 in several roles; most recently as the Director of Business Services overseeing the District’s administrative operations. Prior to starting with PUD 1, she worked in public hospital administration.

Masteller earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Saint Martin’s University and her Master of Public Administration degree from The Evergreen State College.

She and her husband Shay have two daughters, Macy and Lucy, and reside in Matlock.
