WORD OF THE DAY

Panache • \puh-NAWSH\ • Noun - 1: an ornamental tuft (as of feathers) especially on a helmet 2: dash or flamboyance in style and action: verve

The atmospheric scientist loved his work. Field trips to the eastern plains of Oregon to proclaim the dangers of the looming stacks of a coal-fired power plant; his espousing the dangers of particulates emitted from wood-burning power plants; all delivered with a soft, whispering voice that made his acolytes wonder why ANYONE would dare use such technologies. As an extra special touch of panache, the erstwhile professor would end each semester with a salmon barbeque feast served by his very own hands. Hands blackened and anointed by the billowing, greasy charcoal emissions from his $500 Char Griller Trio - Gas/Charcoal Grill and Smoker. Yum!
