WORD OF THE DAY
Canorous
• \kuh-NORE-us\ • Adjective - Pleasant sounding: melodious.
“Cellar
door, elbow, dwarfish” the words flowed easily off the tongue of the amateur
hypnotist, his canorous voice mouthing nonsensical words to his subject, a non-English
speaking immigrant from Kyrgyzstan. Unfortunately for the unlucky traveler,
several combinations of English words unwittingly sounded like “you will quack
like a duck for the rest of your life when you see French fries at McDonalds.” The
results, of course, were disastrous.

LINKS & PAYWALL ADVISORY
All
the links in today’s news digest lead to current stories. Please note that some
media organizations update their web sites regularly, which may result in
broken links in the future.
Note
that as some newspapers migrate to a “paywall” system of access, some articles
may not be available without forking over some cold hard credit card cash. However,
some sites will allow a certain number of story accesses per month before
holding out their hand. Sorry if this is an inconvenience.
